Feeling the love on this sunny spring day <3
Loosely defined by the sages of the interwebs as "family" or "tribe". Other definitions I adore include "a community of the heart" and especially this: "a group coming together of its own free will; an intentional community"
When I set out to create Kula, I had this notion of what it would be like. A group of like minded souls coming together to practice yoga. And it is that, which I love so much. I appreciate every one of you who shows up, whether its been just once for a free class, or almost daily to get your fix.
THANK YOU ALL!
But what I have seen lately goes deeper than that. In the short time Kula has existed, I have had the most wonderful feedback; aches and pains that have plagued people for years are fading away after just a few weeks. Students reporting the ability to keep calm and breathe through situations that normally have them flustered. Peacefulness.
I've seen you cry; I've seen you smile; I've seen you walk in to the studio frazzled but then emerge from that warm classroom with a look of peace and calmness on your shining face. Brand new yogis just starting their journey already contemplating taking their teacher training as they want yoga to be the guiding force in their lives. Transformation happening daily, right before my eyes. I am so honoured to be able to facilitate this growth. It is my joy.
And the deepness of the community is shifting; gathering after class to share laughs, share tears, with those who only weeks ago were strangers.
The immense power of yoga to build a community while we look inward-what a curious thing! I am seeing the ultimate expression of taking care of yourself, so you can care for others, happening right before my eyes. I see people who are feeling so loving towards themselves that they naturally share it in turn, without a thought as to what they are doing- a natural gentleness towards the hearts of others.
A very special and wise woman once said to me we can change the world, one positive thought at a time( paraphrasing, as her words flow through your body into your soul as an idea, a thought a feeling) and I did not really understand or believe this until now, until I have had the opportunity to see and feel it in my presence.
This is how we heal the earth:
By healing our own hearts.
Then sharing that love.
I feel so blessed to be able to serve this community and invite you all to have a slice of this delicious pie for yourself.
I want this for all of you, for your families, your children, our community, the world.
Join the tribe.
Thank you as always for reading my words.
